Registering is the next step and occurs after a student has been offered a seat. Completing registration finalizes the student's enrollment.
-
All students enrolling in Kindergarten must be 5 by August 31st of the academic year in which you are applying for admission. If your child is not of age to attend, we recommend looking into one of our tuition-based Little Leaders Pre-K programs.

No. Submitting an application does not guarantee enrollment. Seat offers depend on available space and applicable enrollment priorities.
-

-
If there are no available seats, your student may be placed on a waitlist, depending on the enrollment process and available space at the requested campus.

ARIZONA GENERAL FAQ
-
There are no entrance exams or application fees to apply for American Leadership Academy.
ALA is open to all students K-12. Charter schools are not bound by traditional school district boundaries. Families can apply and enroll their student regardless of where they are located in the state.
Families are welcome to apply year-round even if they miss the open enrollment period. Schools with max capacity may require these applicants to be placed on a waitlist.
-
Open Enrollment is the time frame that new students can apply to attend in the following academic year. Open Enrollment dates are listed on the website each year, and typically occur in the fall.
Please note that applications received during Open Enrollment are not considered based on time and date stamp. If the number of applications received exceeds the capacity of the school or a grade level, then we will conduct a lottery. If all applications can be accepted, then we will not conduct a lottery and all applicants would receive acceptance notifications shortly after with a request to complete registration.
-
If the number of applicants received during Open Enrollment exceeds the numbers of available seats for the upcoming school year, enrollment offers are made via a random lottery system. Applicants that do not receive an offer will be placed on a waitlist.
-
After an application is submitted, our registration specialists work diligently to process it. If the application was received during the Open Enrollment period, it will be placed on hold until there is a determination made about if the school will have a lottery. If the application is received after Open Enrollment, it will be processed in date and time stamp order.
-
During the Open/Re-Enrollment window, your application will be processed within a week of receipt. All other times of the year typically see no later than a 2 business day turnaround.
-
Though many of our campuses are in high demand, we encourage you to still submit your application, and our Registration Specialists will do everything they can to accommodate your family. Often, we are able to present alternative resolutions such as enrolling in a different nearby campus with availability or ALA Virtual. Our Mission statement is, “In support of the family, provide the best educational experience to as many students as possible in a moral and wholesome environment.” Our ultimate goal is to fulfill our mission statement, and serving your family is one of the most important steps in achieving that.
-
Families can choose a “second choice” campus during the application process if they’d like to be considered for that campus in case their first-choice location is full. If you’d like to change the requested campus in your application, please contact a registration specialist.
-
Please reach out to your campus, or our Enrollment, Registration, and Outreach team (ERO) at districtregistrar@alaschools.org. During Open and Re-enrollment, please allow up to 3 business days for a response to your email inquiry.
