ALA Applied Technologies Director
Brent McArthur is honored to serve as the Director of ALA Applied Technologies High School, where he brings a passion for leadership, opportunity, and preparing students for the future. His career has spanned various facets from education to business along with a career in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. McArthur understands what it takes to set high standards, build strong organizations, and help young people see what is possible when they are given the right opportunities.
A longtime member of the ALA community since 2014, Mr. McArthur has seen firsthand how an American Leadership Academy education can open doors for students and families. At Applied Technologies High School, he is excited to help students turn their interests and talents into real-world skills and meaningful career opportunities that give them a strong foundation for success before they even graduate high school.
Mr. McArthur previously served as CEO of American Leadership Academy and as Managing Partner at Charter One, where he helped lead multi-state operations serving more than 20,000 students and 1,500 employees. His leadership experience is grounded in a commitment to excellence, thoughtful decision-making, and creating environments where people can thrive. He also served as an Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies at the University of South Alabama and holds four master’s degrees, reflecting his lifelong commitment to learning and professional growth.
Before his career in education, Mr. McArthur served as a senior officer in the U.S. Air Force and later as Vice Wing Commander at Vandenberg Air Force Base. His military service shaped the disciplined, mission-focused leadership he brings to every organization he serves.
Mr. McArthur combines that experience with a genuine belief in the potential of every student. He is proud to lead a school designed to give students a different kind of opportunity where they can discover their strengths, develop valuable skills, and begin building a future they are excited about. That mission is personal: he and his wife, Kimberly, are parents to six children and grandparents to eight grandchildren, four of whom attend ALA schools. His family’s connection to ALA is a reflection of the trust he places in the education and opportunities the schools provide to students and families.
